The X Factor

The X Factor was a singing show that first aired in 2004 after Pop Idol and Fame Academy. Simon Cowell was the main guy behind the show as he appeared on the show as a judge for most of the seasons but was replaced by Gary Barlow for a few seasons when his wife had a child. The show is about normal people come out and trying to sing in order to become famous and launch a career. The first winner of the show was Steve Brookstein and other winners have included Leona Lewis, Joe McElderry and Little Mix.

There have also been alot of judges on the panel over the years, some only lasting 1 year other lasting many years. These include Louis Walsh, Nick Grimshaw and Mel B. They are there to mentor the acts and make them the best, the contestants are put into groups, Boys, Girls, Overs, and Groups and each group gets given a mentor and they have to work together. Louis Walsh usually gets the groups.

They acts have to go though a long process, including audtions, bootcamp, judges houses and the live shows. Dermot O'Leary hosted the show for the most amount of time and usually came out on the live shows and did his dad dancing. He was a very fun host. Thank you for reading tonight.
