General Elections are cool, they are there to tell which party you may or may not like. The UK has had many over the last couple of years with the last one taking place in 2019. They are meant to happen every 5 years but over the last few years we have had a few because of the changing prime ministers and struggling to get Brexit through the house of commons.
The aim of a general election is for the parties to get the most seats of the total of 650 across the country and that will allow them to control the house of commons. The lastest general election in 2019 let Boris Johnson take a huge majority and that allowed him to control the commons and allowed him to do whatever he wanted. However he was a naughty boy and ended up out of office.
The fun of the general elections is when everyone has to come out and vote and bring their dog to the local polling station. They are usually quite close and it only takes 10 or 15 minutes to get to the polling station. The next elections is meant to be in 2024 but with the prime minister it could even be earlier. Thank you for reading.
